3 Season Course

Join master forager Paul Tappenden and herbal teacher Elana Fine for a 3 season adventure.  Learn how to make common plants into delicious (but simple) cuisine and into plant medicine.

In response to the feedback we have received, Suburban Foragers will be running two versions of our 3 seasons course. The Advanced course will be held on the third Sunday of the month starting in April. The Basic course will be on every third Saturday. Both courses will teach about the wild plants growing in this region and their seasons. We will be foraging, cooking and making herbal medicine. This is a hands-on step by step experience for beginners and those with previous experience.

In the 3 hour basic course we will spend time identifying wild plants, gathering seasonal edible and medicinal plants and learning how to prepare them.

In the 5 hour advanced class you will also learn gourmet cooking with wild foods and beauty techniques from your kitchen. In addition, you will learn some primitive skills like natural rope and fire making and study plants and plant families at far greater depths. The final workshop in November will consist of a Forager’s Thanksgiving feast, using all the skills learned throughout the course

Advanced students will receive a copy of the Suburban Foragers Manual (a step by step guide to foraging), Plant Identification cards and discounts on any other Suburban Foragers workshops attended.

Students in the basic class will be able to purchase the Suburban Foragers manual, and plant identification cards separately.

Basic course – $595 for the year

Advanced course – $955 for the year.
